Hana at the Torino Film Festival

Hana was at the Torino Film Festival last week with the final leg of the Torino Film Lab Script and Pitch Workshops she has been taking part in since March this year. Over the last 8 months Hana has been developing her feature script 'Spiral' with the Lab which she then pitched at the Festival. It was nerveracking but a great experience and opened up a lot of opportunities!

Hermann at Aesthetica Short Film Festival

Hermann will be screened as part of the Aesthetica Short Film Festival from the 3rd-6th November. It is an exciting new Short Film Festival and will take place in the historic city of York in 14 venues across the city with opportunities for master classes, workshops, Q&A sessions with filmmakers, evening screenings and VJs. Definitely one to put in the diary!

Hermann wins Audience Award

Although Hermann didn't receiving the Jury Award in the Longform Category at the Rushes Soho Shorts Festival, Hermann did walk away with the Festival's Audience Award. Whoop Whoop! and thank you audience! Hana now has even itchier feet and can't wait to shoot her next short...

Exciting news!! 'Hermann' has been selected as one of 3 finalists as part of the Rushes Soho Shorts Longform competition!

Click here to see the other nominees and for further information on the festival. The Award Ceremony is to take place on Thursday 28th July at the Curzon Soho, so fingers crossed!!

Nell Dunn's Home Death opens at Finborough

A fantastic first night at the Finborough saw an audience including Cherie Blair, author Nell Dunn, Diana Melly and a number of people connected to the play squeeze into the newly air-conditioned Finborough auditorium.

Tonight is press night, following wonderful previews in Saturday's Family section of the Guardian.

Christopher Haydon appointed Artistic Director of the Gate

We're delighted to hear that Christopher Haydon, the first director Strawberry Vale ever worked with (producing his first production, Notes from the Underground in 2006/7) has been appointed the new Artistic Director of the Gate Theatre in Notting Hill.

Chris is directing Wittenberg by David Davalos at the Gate this August before starting full time in post in January 2012, taking over from the fantastic Natalie Abrahamie and Carrie Cracknell.

Strawberry Vale also produced Niklas Radstrom's Monsters at the Arcola with Chris directing, and is currently in the first stages of developing the Tom Lehrer project with him and writer Adam Brace.

Lilli has known Chris since she was 16 and he dragged her into London to see show after show, before inducting her into university drama, and feels sure she wouldn't have become a producer if their paths hadn't crossed. So on both a personal and a professional level, it is a very happy day: HURRAH!

Home Death, a new play by Olivier Award winner Nell Dunn, will play for six performances only on Sunday and Monday evenings from Sunday, 10 July 2011 at the multi-award-winning Finborough Theatre.

Finally - Hermann's first UK screening

Hermann is part of the official competition at the Rushes Soho Shorts Film Festival in July. It will be screened as part of the Long Form Category on the 22nd and the 27th July at 18:15 at the ICA, London.

'Hermann' will be part of this years Short Film Corner at the Cannes International Film Festival. Both Hana and Lilli are going to be at the Festival from the 12th -17th May, so drop us a line if you fancy meeting up and saying hello! We are very excited already.

On top of that 'Hermann' has been selected for the Mumbai International Queer Film Festival and will be screened:
